THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing the full accounting process up to trial balance. Key duties include processing Sales and Purchase invoices, handling payments and receipts, running payroll, filing documentation, and maintaining effective communication with both customers and suppliers. You will oversee another member of staff, allocate cash, reconcile bank statements and cashbooks, and attend meetings to record minutes and actions. You’ll use XERO, SAP, and Microsoft Excel to process Sales invoicing, credit notes, and manage data efficiently. Additional responsibilities include credit control, processing monthly rebates, and conducting credit checks for new customers to set appropriate credit limits.
REQUIREMENTS
The Accounts Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of this small and friendly business. You must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a methodical approach, and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounts and administration is required, along with sound knowledge of finance functions including Sales and Purchase Ledger. Proficiency in SAP, XERO, and Excel is essential. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
