THE COMPANY

Our client, a well-established business located in Cradley Heath, is in search of a Full-Time Assistant Accountant for a permanent position. The ideal candidate must possess relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in Engineering or Manufacturing. THE ROLE

Reporting to the Financial Controller within a small and busy team, the role entails responsibilities such as posting Sales Ledger receipts, generating Aged Debtors Analysis Reports on a weekly basis, and handling queries to ensure authorised payments within specified payment terms. Additional duties involve the reconciliation of the Purchase Ledger Control Account, management of the Cash Book and Bank Accounts (including monthly reconciliation to bank statements), and oversight of the Petty Cash Book. The role also includes processing monthly payrolls onto the system, including RTI submissions and control of PAYE, NI, GST, VAT deductions/payments. Furthermore, tasks encompass the production and distribution of P11d’s, P45’s, P60’s, and any other necessary forms. The posting of essential transfers and journals to the Nominal Ledger and Nominal Control Accounts is required, along with handling pension administration. Proficiency in MS Excel and Pegasus Opera is essential.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the accounts function with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Seeking to work in a small and friendly team, knowledge of Pegasus Opera will be advantageous, as well as advanced MS Excel skills. COMPANY BENEFITS

The company provides excellent working conditions with onsite parking. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 4:30pm and 8:00am to 1:00pm on Fridays. The salary is up to £30,000, with full study support for CIMA/ACCA.
