We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for the position of Shift Manager within a dynamic manufacturing environment located in Burton on Trent. THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Shift Manager, the Shift Manager holds a pivotal role in supervising production line operations in alignment with established factory policies and procedures. The primary objective is to ensure the seamless functioning of production during the designated shift. Responsibilities include overseeing shift resources, maintaining health and safety protocols, managing shift rotas and crew sizes within budget constraints, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves coordinating production activities, conducting training, and liaising with various stakeholders to achieve quality, safety, and production targets. The Shift Manager is expected to demonstrate leadership in upholding the company’s food safety culture and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate for this role possesses a degree or equivalent in a food science discipline, HACCP qualifications, and a minimum supervisory qualification with evidence of continuous development. Computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Office at an intermediate level, is essential, along with technical management experience in food manufacturing. Strong interpersonal skills, GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English, and familiarity with implementing BRC6 and IFS standards are prerequisites. The candidate should be organised, flexible, and adept at prioritising work objectives. Up-to-date knowledge of food legislation, excellent management skills, and experience leading audits are also critical.

COMPANY BENEFITS

In return for your skills and dedication, the company offers a competitive salary of £42,000 per annum, working rotational patterns (6.00am to 2.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm). Additional benefits include 25 days of annual leave, plus 8 days for bank holidays, a NEST pension scheme with a 5% contribution from the employee and a 3% contribution from the company, and life assurance at four times the annual salary.
