THE COMPANY

Our client, an established business based in Albrighton, are recruiting for a Junior Accounts Assistant for a permanent contract. Our client is a well-known company in the local area, a leader in their field, who are experiencing a period of growth.

REQUIREMENTS

No experience in accountancy or finance is required, but you will need GCSEs at Level 4 or above in Maths and English. Good IT skills encompassing Microsoft applications, Word & Excel and good attention to detail, organised and good communication skills. You will be confident with numbers and work well as part of a team. You will embrace change, constantly learn and develop yourself and take a positive, can do, proactive approach.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Financial Controller in a medium sized, stable team, this will be your first step into an accounts function. Your role will be varied, including data entry, production of timesheets and purchase ledger invoices. Counting and banking onsite takings, statement reconciliations. Allocating BACS and Credit Card payments and dealing with all aspects of company credit cards including coding and reviewing receipts. You will also assist other members of staff on various jobs. You will have full training and will be sponsored to study the AAT study programme in your own time. This will include Level 1,2,3 & 4 with the opportunity to continue on to study ACCA or CIMA for the right candidate.

COMPANY BENEFITS

Salary is £15,000 – £17,000 depending on experience plus fully paid AAT Study Support. The company offer excellent working conditions and onsite parking. Working hours 37.5 per week starting at 8.30am – 5.00pm with 1/2 hour lunch within a relaxed environment in a friendly team. Parking and on-site canteen plus other benefits. Currently the client are operating a policy that if you can work from home then you should. All necessary equipment will be supplied but it is essential that the candidate has a suitable setup at home for the role. They are hoping to open the offices to staff again soon but at a lower capacity. Longer term the company will be looking at the possibility of keeping an element of home working if staff want to do so.
