Our client, an established Dudley based business, require a Purchasing Manager – Capital Equipment for a Permanent contract. It is essential you have relevant experience in a similar role. REQUIREMENTS

Skills and experience required of the Purchasing Manager; International buying experience would be beneficial, methodical and organised in approach to workload, steel and fabrications purchasing, CIPS qualified or similar, computer literate to ensure working knowledge of Company’s Web-based Database system, advanced knowledge of Excel, strong communication skills within and outside the Company, to be able to read and understand engineering drawings and understand the impact of foreign currencies and exchange rate volatility. The role involves travel both in the UK and overseas.

THE ROLE

The main duties of the Purchasing Manager include; responsibility for defined purchasing activities throughout the company, exploring alternative purchasing opportunities and solutions, to source new suppliers, negotiate and procure goods and materials within the price, specification, quality and required delivery timescales, secure the most favourable terms of payment for the Company from suppliers to ensure contracts are self-financing, monitor and report on global/market price changes relative to the company, and as necessary to identify alternative suppliers, if necessary to prepare and raise purchase orders on suppliers, attend Company progress/production meetings as required, answer/progress queries from suppliers and sales representatives, monitor and report on suppliers’ performance and re-negotiate rates and prices, you will assess ongoing and new suppliers and recommend their addition or deletion from Approved Suppliers’ List. You will be committed, a good communicator and above all you will be hard working.
