Our client, an established business based in Cannock, are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis.
Ideally you will be an experienced or part qualified Accountant with experience of working in a fast-paced high-volume environment with a demonstrable record of responsibility and growth and solid experience in complex reconciliations. With strong numerical and communication skills and advanced knowledge of Excel. The ability to meet deadlines and ensure internal processes are maintained. You will have strong excel skills and be analytical with a good eye for detail. Experience of IT package SAGE would be an advantage along with Studying towards a recognised accounting qualification i.e. Level 4 AAT, CIMA, ACCA. General ledger experience is essential.
You will be responsible for reporting Sales in excess of £50m and you will ensure transactions are processed correctly and accurately. You will be communicating with the Sales team on a monthly basis to ensure commission payments are processed correctly and any queries dealt with. You will also be responsible for bank reconciliations, petty cash and general accounting duties such as prepayments, accruals, journals and month end transactions. Ensure all transactions are processed correctly, nominal ledger accounts are reconciled, and necessary accruals and adjustments are processed to the ledger. You will also be responsible for treasury activities, processing the monthly payroll file to the ledger and ensure the necessary amounts are accrued correctly for pension, PAYE and national insurance. Other adhoc finance duties are required at busy times.
