A local business based in Wolverhampton, known for their expertise and professionalism who sit within the construction sector are currently recruiting for a Credit Manager. As a Credit Manager, you will lead a small team and have a good knowledge of managing a contracting process.



Ideally you will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a credit control capacity with 5 years up to date knowledge of construction credit control. You will have worked in a corporate environment and have a thorough knowledge of legislative acts within a contracting and construction sector. You will enforce payment routes, such as tax implications, application for payments and retentions. You will also have an understanding of withholding notices. You will be a good problem solver and be very customer focused with excellent communication skills. You will have some supervisor experience and have the ability to motivate staff members.


The company offer excellent working conditions with onsite parking. Working hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm. The application process will consist of at least two interviews which will be carried out via video or face to face due to COVID-19. The office is open plan with plenty of room to work at a 2-metre distance. You will be expected to demonstrate core competencies but also an additional flair which makes you stand out. The role will however be office based. We are only considering candidates from a contracting background who understand construction contracts.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a small and busy team reporting to the Finance Director. You will be overseeing the efficient management of the company sales ledger. Providing full support to 2 credit controllers within the team, including motivation and training. Responsible for a large ledger of accounts worth over 20 million. Chasing outstanding debt via telephone, letter, email and legal proceedings and liaising with heads of department and senior directors on weekly/monthly basis to provide update regards debtor reports. Liaising with clients on daily basis to deal with invoice and contract queries and assisting with month end accounting procedures. Analysing accounts annually to establish top clients and best performing contracts so that feedback can be provided to senior managers and directors. Preparing bad debt provision. Meeting internals KPI’s and develop and manage a credit policy for processes and procedures. Overseeing two staff, motivating and monitoring on a daily basis. Offering support and guidance with regular one to one meetings.
