THE COMPANY

Our client, an established Stafford based business in the Housing sector requires a Ledger Manager for a temporary contract. Ideally with 3 years’ experience in both purchase ledger and sales ledger.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience of working in a busy finance team and of supervising staff. Experience of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable including supplier statement reconciliations. You will have effective interpersonal skills, able to communicate with staff and external customers at all levels and able to make decisions based on knowledge and evidence without referral to senior staff as required. Experience of analysing and presenting large volumes of data would be an advantage. You will be available on a short notice and need little supervision. You will also commit to the assignment with a possibility of the role becoming permanent for the right candidate.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the AP and AR function. AP duties include performance monitoring for both the department and the business, business support in achieving targets, championing compliance with the group’s financial regulations and administering payment runs. You will also be responsible for the day management of the AR function, including monitoring the performance of credit control activities for the group. You will effectively manage the ledger assistants, including ongoing performance monitoring and staff development and oversee and be responsible for the timely completion of the groups Bank reconciliations. Your responsibilities will also include the day to day administration of the groups purchase order processing, AP and AR systems. You will also encourage and coach others to deliver high standards in dealing with all customers, delivering the highest possible standard of customer service and co-ordinate the balance of work of individuals within the team and coach staff to improve team and organisational performance.
