THE COMPANY
A well-established local service business based on the outskirts of Rugeley is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join its team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Credit Controller to become a key member of a friendly, professional, and growing organisation.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Accounts Manager, the Senior Credit Controller will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of the accounts department.
Key responsibilities include:
• Processing sales invoices and credit notes via Sage 50 and client portals.
• Managing credit control: processing monthly rebates, conducting credit checks on new customers, and setting appropriate credit limits.
• Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Managing payments and receipts in a timely manner.
• Allocating cash, reconciling accounts, and monitoring transactions.
• Handling and resolving accounts queries and discrepancies.
• Liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to investigate and resolve financial issues.
• Attending meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintaining well-organised financial documentation and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
This Senior Credit Controller position provides essential clerical and administrative support within the finance team, ensuring the efficient operation of the business. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and confident in managing multiple priorities.
Key requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit control.
• Strong knowledge of finance functions, including sales and purchase ledger.
• Proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive, team-oriented approach with a problem-solving mindset.
